December is here and with it Christmas is just days away! There is so much pressure placed on gift giving this time of year. We seem to have lost what Christmas is all about.

Combine the stress of holiday shopping with all this talk of supply chains being clogged, shelves being empty and holiday anxiety will go through the roof! I did some digging and found remarkable items throughout the Capital Region that would make wonderful Christmas presents and the best part is every one of these items are FREE!

I spent a little bit of time on craigslist and found pages of FREE items listed and all you have to do is arrange to pick them up. Before you do any of that check out this list of safety tips from ADT on how to shop on craigslist safely.

  1. Make sure the transaction is worth your time
  2. Always use a proxy email address
  3. Plan details in advance
  4. Meet in public and bring a friend

Let's get right to it. A cherry picked list of items from the Capital Region at Craigslist Albany as well as Craigslist Catskills and Craigslist Hudson Valley. Some of these items are well worth the time to pick them up, others I found amusing. Maybe you will as well.

Here are just a few examples of what I found for FREE on Craigslist:

  • Dogs - Yes, free dogs available while they last
  • Cats - Yes, same as above
  • X-Box - Comes with console, games and controller
  • Huge swing set
  • RV Trailer
  • Poybelly Pig - Gotta see it to believe it
