Boosie BadAzz Arrested on Felony Drug and Firearm Charges: Report
Boosie BadAzz has apparently been put behind bars once again.
According to The Newman Times-Herald, the Baton Rouge, La. rapper was arrested on felony drug and firearm charges following a traffic stop in Newman, Ga today (April 8).
Boosie, born Torrence Hatch Jr., was pulled over by police after allegedly swerving in and out of traffic in his Dodge Charger, nearly sideswiping another vehicle in the process. Police Sgt. Jeff Bugg stopped Hatch, along with his bodyguard, Antonio Allen, who was in the passenger seat at the time the car was stopped.
Sgt. Bugg claims he smelled marijuana from the vehicle and subsequently searched it. He reportedly found approximately 11 grams of suspected marijuana and a loaded 9mm handgun, as well as a bag containing a "large sum of cash" and a vape pen with what is believed to have THC oil in it.
Additionally, according to Bugg, Hatch admitted to having talked on the phone while driving, which is a misdemeanor in Georgia.
Both Hatch and Allen were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule one drug, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Hatch had a failure to maintain lane charge added as well. Both are being held at the Coweta County Jail in Newman.
Hatch was indicted on first-degree murder charges in 2010, as well as sentenced to eight years on various drug possession charges with the intent of distribution. He was acquitted of the murder charges in 2012 and remained on parole until 2018.
XXL has reached out to Boosie's team for comment but did not immediately receive a reply.
