No more big gulps in the big apple? It’s a possibility! NYC Mayor Bloomberg is proposing a ban on the sale of sugary sodas larger than 16 ounces. The ban could be put into action as early as next spring.

If the ban passes, which most predict it will, restaurants and casual dining locations will have to find ways to make up lost money from the change. Selling larger versions of milkshakes, smoothies and lattes will still be legal because of the dairy and fruit content.

The locations effected by the ban will be restaurants, stadiums and movie theatres. You’ll still be able to buy super big sodas from your favorite gas station or bodega.

I have a feeling most drink orders will be followed by “no ice” in the near future.
