It’s official. The new iPad has a refreshing new look and name to accompany it. The 20 percent thinner tablet is now called the “iPad Air." It will be easier than ever to take with you on-the-go, weighing just one pound (about a half pound lighter). Some other key features and details were also announced today, including:

-A 64 bit A7 chip (like the iPhone 5S)

-8 times faster than first iPad

-72x the graphic performance

-5 megapixel iSight camera

-10 hour battery life

-Available starting November 1st

-16GB will run $499, $629 for Verizon customers

-Available in 3 colors – Space Gray, Black and White

-9.7 inch retina display

-2x the data transfer rate on Wi-Fi

Other announcements were made about the iPad 2 and iPad Mini. The mini will now also have the 64 bit A7 chip and Apple will continue to carry the iPad 2 at the price of $399.
