Home rooms, homecomings and homework (UGH!) are right around the corner. With another Capital Region school year right around the corner, a local charity organization located out of Schenectady is looking to help with kids-in-need.

The non-profit, Things of My Very Own, Inc. (also known as TOMVO), are looking to fill hundreds of backpacks with school supplies for students. The organization provides impoverished children who are victims of abuse and/or neglect with crisis intervention services. TOMVO boasts they provide stability while promoting success.

In addition to doing things like providing backpacks and school supplies, the organization’s volunteers have provided the children with scholarships and gift certificates for place like Six Flags Great Escape, Rope Courses, Mini Golf Adventures, Batting Cages, Bumper Boats and more.
