Young Thug almost didn't make it to the 2019 Grammy Awards. TMZ reports that, hours before he performed "Havana" with Camila Cabello at the star-studded awards show, the Georgia native was put in handcuffs on Sunday (Feb. 10) in West Hollywood, Calif.

Apparently, Thugger was pulled over for a traffic violation while riding in a van with his entourage. It's unclear if Thugger was driving. Either way, police got everyone including the rapper out of van and placed them all in handcuffs.

Law enforcement sources told the celebrity gossip site that one of the rapper's associates admitted to the officers that he was carrying a registered firearm. After further investigation, police discovered that the gun wasn't registered in California and arrested Thug's friend. They let everyone else free.

Thugger was lucky enough to dodge a trip to jail just hours before the biggest night in music. Not only did he have a key role in the award show's opening act, but he also won Grammy award thanks to Childish Gambino's "This Is America."

The last round of legal woes the rapper, who was born Jeffery Williams, endured happened a few months back when the 27-year-old filed court documents to have his pending gun and drug charges dismissed. Williams' legal docs claims their motion is legit due to the inappropriate treatment cops gave him during his arrest in Brookhaven, Ga. in September 2017.
