XXXTentacion’s Mother Vows to Never Allow His Name to Die

It's been one month since XXXTentacion's untimely death sent waves of shock and grief throughout the hip-hop community. While the rapper's murder has sparked a larger conversation on how to mourn the often controversial artist, XXX's mother has vowed to continue his legacy.

On Wednesday (July 18), Cleopatra Bernard penned an emotional tribute to her son via Instagram. “Today is a month since you left us and I still can’t wrap my head around it,” she wrote as the caption for a black-and-white photo of the rapper. “It gets harder everyday but I will never allow your name to die, I love you with all my heart and I miss you beyond words, LLJ.”

Shortly after, fans flooded the comment section of Bernard's post with words of support: “We are brought together because of Jahseh.. he saved many of us and if it wasn’t for you raising him and bringing him on this earth, we wouldn’t have known this hero,” one person wrote.

In the wake of his death, Bernard held a candlelight vigil at XXX's newly purchased Florida home. The rapper's family also held a public memorial which amassed thousands of fans, friends and family. In the time since his death, authorities have arrested two men—Dedrick Williams and Michael Boatwright—who are suspected of being involved in the killing of the rapper. Both men have been charged with first-degree murder.
