Where is Anthony Myrie Body ?

Greene Correctional Facility in Coxsackie, NY, is currently under investigation by The State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision after an inmate death.  Anthony Myrie, 23 died on Monday, according to Time Union reporters, Myrie was serving a 7-year sentence after being convicted of attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance in Manhattan, NY he started his sentence on Nov. 15, 2018. Myrie wife and brother took to Instagram claiming Myrie was on the phone with his wife, when correctional officers took him to solitary also known as “The Box.” According to the Instagram post, Anthony wife received a phone call from another inmates family member confirming Anthony has been taken to the box. When his wife called to see why this have happened, Greene Correctional reported that Myrie was not in “The Box” he was still in population. Around 4:30 p.m. the prison called back and said that he was in critical condition and a second phone call around a little over a hour later saying Myrie had dead, all reported from his wife Instagram post. Myrie's body is currently at the Albany County Medical Examiner's Office, according to News 10, Myrie's family has said on Instagram they have not been able to locate his body. The news spread like wild fire all over social media getting the attention of celebrities like Meek Mill and Cardi B both confirming the harsh conditions and mistreatment of correctional facilities toward inmates.

This is not the first time Greene Correctional has been  accused of abuse toward inmates. In 2016 Matthew Thornton was put into a cell with another “gang member” and the sergeant told the other man Raffi Mata “to handle business.” Thornton was then attacked by Mata, he tells his story to Time union shortly after his release in 2016.  In another incident, Thornton said guards attacked him in a prison van, pulling a bag over his head to prevent him from breathing. They threatened him for filing grievances, No action was taken although two officers was fired.
