Usher will start a new job next season that will be tailor-made for him -- a coach on NBC's hit reality-competition series 'The Voice.' The R&B crooner and expectant mother Shakira will replace Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera, respectively, who won't be returning to the show next year.

MTV News caught up with Usher at the iHeart Radio Music Festival and asked him about his plum gig with fellow coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. "Man, you have no idea," said Usher who couldn't contain his excitement for the job. "I have not spoken to Adam and Blake. I have not spoken to anyone with regards to [the show]. It's still new news, but I'm really excited about it."

The 'Climax' singer believes it's the perfect job for him because he loves being mentor and developing new and exciting talent. "It's the type of show that I feel really sets up an artist and makes it about what matters most first: the voice," he explains. "Everything else comes afterwards in terms of the mentors; that's what gives the personality, gives the opportunity to be an artist who will excel and transcend culture and also be able to tell an incredible story in music. So I like being able to be at that place. I love being a mentor."

And Usher is pretty good at being mentor. He recently helped guide the career of this handsome kid from Canada who went from being an unknown YouTube star to a worldwide pop sensation. "Yeah, this one guy who, it kind of worked out in terms of mentoring him," quips Usher about his artist Justin Bieber. "[I] might be able to help do it again, huh?"

Yep, it's possible.
