In 2013, Tyrese lost his best friend Paul Walker who perished in a fiery car crash in Los Angeles. The actor’s death took a heavy toll on him but he has found his "smile" again.

On the 'Arsenio Hall Show’ Wednesday night (Jan. 15), the 35-year-old actor-singer remembered Walker and his infectious spirit.

"Everyone knows what ended up happening in my world around the end of the year with Paul Walker, my best man," he told Arsenio. "It was a lot of shock and trauma for the family and all of us involved, because he’s just such a nice guy.”

“I’ve never been depressed in my life, but I was very sad and down, and it took me a minute to shake it," he added.

According to Tyrese, it was his faithful trip to Dubai that awakened him from his grief. During his two-week trip, he celebrated his 35th birthday and partied with his good friend Will Smith. He loved the trip so much, he created a nine-minute video of his travels..

For Tyrese, it’s a reminder of what made Paul Walker such a great human being.

"What gave me my smile again is really thinking about the fact that I have never seen him cry, never seen him sad and his energy was always up," he said.
