Earlier this month, L.T. Hutton, a producer on the Tupac biopic All Eyez on Me, explained why the film was without a release date, despite some reports pegging it for a November unveiling. "The film is healthy. The integrity of this film matters," he said. "That’s the most important thing. So there’s things I’m going to keep on fighting for and make sure this thing stays authentic."

Yesterday, however, Hutton was finally able to announce a finish line, for the film, telling a crowd in the above Instagram video that All Eyez on Me will be released on June 16th, what would have been Pac's 46th birthday. Pac's birthday this past year was used as a news-making moment as well, the film's first trailer released on that date. The second trailer meanwhile was released on Sept. 13, the 20th anniversary of his death.

In July, it was reported that the film was on hold due to a song dispute, though any obstacle seems to have been cleared with a release date now out. All Eyez on Me stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. as PAc, the actor celebrating a birthday of his own yesterday. Danai Gurira of The Walking Dead will play Afeni Shakur, Pac's mother, who was an executive producer on the film until she passed in May at the age of 69.
