Remember last week when a video hit the web with high school students mocking an elderly Native American man, well apparently Donald Trump felt necessary to express his opinion on the matter.

Trump said “Looking like Nick Sandman & Covington Catholic students were treated unfairly with early [judgments] proving out to be false - smeared by media. Not good, but making big comeback! ‘New footage shows that media was wrong about teen’s encounter with Native American.’”

Along with that, Trump said the students are victims of "fake news."

Donald Trump always seems to insert his opinion into things that really don't need a statement from the president. Every day we have a new video of someone doing something offensive. When Donald Trump enters his opinion, it is usually to defend the person or people participating in blatantly bigotted behavior.

Most of the time, I think a lot of this is to distract the fact that he is under criminal investigation and that the government remains shut down. I do agree with Donald Trump that this event was fake news, but the students were obviously disrespectful to the elderly man.

Do you think Donald Trump was right for inserting his opinion into a viral video?
