When you elect to title your album Major Without a Deal, you're proclaiming yourself to be a viable threat on the independent circuit. Apparently, Jay Z's classic adage, "Men lie, women lie, numbers don't" still holds weight in today's climate because according to Soundscan, Troy Ave flopped. We're talking bad, real bad Michael Jackson.

That's right, despite his album boasting features from the likes of Snoop Dogg, Fabolous, Ty Dolla $ign, A$AP Ferg and more, Troy Ave sold a meager 4,373 copies of Major Without a Deal in its first week of release, according to Complex. To make matters worse, the Brooklyn, N.Y. native only sold 30 physical copies. Twitter had a field day on this debacle and people weren't shy about poking fun at the "Doo Doo" rhymer.

"Troy Ave album went double aluminum," one twitter user wrote. Another chimed in and said: "Troy Ave not getting slandered because he sold 4,500. He getting slandered cuz he slandered successful people and clhttp://theboombox.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=166895&action=edit&message=1aiming he ran NY."

What's befuddling about the whole situation is that Troy was able to cook up some notable singles in the forms of "All About the Money," "Your Style" and "Doo Doo." Maybe he's only major regionally, who knows? He was even able to nab the likes of Rick Ross and Jeezy for the remix for "All About the Money" and Diddy, Ma$e and T.I. for "Your Style."

Let's be fair, Troy did drop his sophomore LP on a Friday (June 5) so perhaps the total number isn't completely accurate. Regardless, he has some explaining to do.
