Some time ago we'd heard that the TV series based on Jason Statham's iconic 'Transporter' franchise had produced an entire season, though Cinemax ultimately opted against bringing the show to American TV. Now, not only has 'Transporter The Series' been greenlit for a second season, we have an American premiere date for Frank Martin's continued adventures on TNT!

Starring 'Dexter' and 'Prison Break' vet Chris Vance in the title role, the 'Transporter' TV series will premiere its first season on TNT in Fall 2014, with a second season heading into production this February in Morocco, the Czech Republic and Canada, also to air on TNT. For those unfamiliar with the franchise, 'Transporter The Series' centers on Frank Martin (Vance), a professional "transporter" paid to pick up and deliver people or cargo from anywhere in the world. The best at what he does, Frank handles only the most difficult dangerous and assignments, with the series featuring all the dry wit, exotic locations, heart-pounding action and nail-biting suspense we've come to expect.

Says TNT programming president Michael Wright of 'Transporter The Series':

Transporter The Series is a roller-coaster ride with big-screen action, fantastic locations and an extremely charismatic lead in Chris Vance. The Transporter franchise is a proven winner embraced by movie and television viewers around the globe, and we're proud that TNT will become the television home for fans in the United States. Transporter The Series is a perfect addition to TNT's lineup, as we continue to expand our reach with such action-packed dramas as our upcoming Legends and The Last Ship.

Additionally, Andrea Osvart plays Frank Martin’s handler Carla, an “extremely crafty former CIA operative who organizes his missions, acts as his eyes and ears on the outside, and continually stokes the flames of their unrequited attraction.” If that doesn't rev your engine, check out the original trailer for 'Transporter The Series' below, and tell us if you'll watch the fall 2014 premiere in the comments!
