It seems like everybody is apologizing nowadays. Legendary hitmaker Timbaland is apologizing to Chris Brown about comments he made about his Aaliyah collaboration, 'Don't Think They Know.'

As we previously reported, in an interview with Revolt TV, Timbo stated that Breezy and Drake's tribute songs could never work because they weren't spiritually connected to the late songbird.

“People always say they are going to do a song with Aaliyah,” he said. “It ain’t gonna work ’cause Aaliyah’s music only works with its soulmate, which is me.”

The media took it as a slap to Brown's artistry, but the super producer wanted to make it clear that it wasn't a knock at the young R&B singer.

On Twitter, Timbaland tweeted, “i actually like the song wit him n Aaliyah, its just when you are talking about babygirl its a very sensitive subject with me. So the people who not only worked with her but grew a bond so tight we are like family so im very over protective over her."

"I have mad luv 4 my dude @chrisbrown," he added.

This is understandable considering that Timbo and Aaliyah created some memorable hit songs together. Not only that, the family is still grieving over the loss and doesn't want to see the singer's legacy tarnished with feeble collaborations.

What do you think of Timbaland's apology? Was it necessary? Tell us in the comments below.
