Thundercat has announced that he'll be embarking on a 42 date headlining world tour in 2017.

The celebrated bassist, who worked extensively on Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly, had a relatively quiet 2016, though he did drop the eclectic track, "Bus In These Streets" back in August and recently featured on Moses Sumney's "Lonely World." Now, he's embarking on a world tour that kicks off in February in San Francisco.

The California natives last album, 2015's The Beyond/Where the Giants Roam was an expansive work that showcased the wealth of his talent as a producer and song writer alike, as did his extensive work on Kendrick Lamar's 2015 release, To Pimp a Butterfly.

Catch him live starting in February, as he'll hit cities including Portland, Denver and Chicago before heading overseas where he'll tour the U.K., Germany and Austria, with the tour wrapping in April in Belgium.
