A$AP Rocky’s highly anticipated debut album, Long.Live.A$AP, debuted at number one upon its release. This marks the first hip hop album to land in the top spot so far in 2013. Competition was pretty weak, with the latest “Kidz Bop” album finishing second, but 140,000 copies sold is still a strong debut.

Artists featured on the album include both big names and unfamiliars as well – Drake, Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Florence Welch, Action Bronson, Big KRIT and others. The debut is the strongest showing for Polo Grounds Music artists, which include Pitbull, Hurricane Chris and Yo Gotti.

T.I., buzz-artists Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Wiz Khalifa, and Game also had strong showings this week. Kendrick Lamar’s debut is still on fire as well, selling an additional 18,000 copies this week.
