The Weeknd heated things up at the 2016 Academy Awards with a performance of hsi hit "Earned It" from Fifty Shades of Grey.

As the "Can't Feel My Face" singer cruised through the sultry song, a string violin orchestra backed him and burlesque dancers performed risqué moves around him -- similar to the song's music video. And lest we forget the trapeze artist hanging on top of his head who performed some sultry turns and flips as well as chandeliers and candlelit lanterns served as onstage garnishes.

While the song also appeared in Fifty Shades of Grey, it's also taken on a life of its own via massive radio play, and it appeared on The Weeknd's acclaimed 2015 album, Beauty Behind the Madness and reached No. 3 on the Billboard charts.

The track was also up for Best Original Song in the 88th Oscars award show but ultimately lost to Sam Smith's Writings on the Wall from the film Spectre. The Weeknd's "Earned It" did nab a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance earlier this month though while his LP gained a Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album. This is the fourth performance by The Weeknd this month -- at the Grammy Awards he performed "Can't Feel My Face" and "In the Night." Then, last week Lauryn Hill joined him for a performance of "In The Night" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
