Funkmaster Flex rubbed some people the wrong way with his comments about 2Pac’s infamous 1994 shooting at Quad Studios in New York. The Hot 97 radio personality, who has publicly said that he’s not a fan of the late rapper, said that ‘Pac shot himself during the robbery and then made up the elaborate story that robbers shot him while they were trying to take his jewelry.

“You Pac fans always talking that talk,” said Flex on Instagram Live. “Cheddar Bob came in there, popped himself in the leg. Popped himself first. That’s what happened. He knew who approached him. He had a steel on him, ’cause he knew he had an issue out there and when they got there, they was just gonna take his jewelry They didn’t even touch him. He panicked, pulled out the steel, shot himself.”

The Quad Studios shooting was the spark that ignited the East Coast Vs. West Coast rivalry that eventually took the lives of Biggie and 2Pac.

Although Flex’s theory isn’t new (Village Voice writer Chuck Phillips stated the same thing in a 2012 article — that Tupac shot himself), some people felt that he was being disrespectful to 2Pac's legacy. One person who felt some kind of way was T.I. The Atlanta rapper went on his Instagram page to G-check the legendary DJ and told him to respect the dead.

"Yo @funkflex Respectfully Bruh... on G-Code.... regardless of what YOU THINK the validity of your statement is, I was taught never to speak down on a dead man," he wrote in the post above. "When he was alive, you was on da air then.... that was the time to address this. NOT HERE, NOT NOW, NOT LIKE THIS!!! And I'd say the same to a n---- from LA speaking on BIG."

Funkmaster Flex hasn't responded to T.I.'s remarks, however, he did announce that tonight (May 4) at 9 p.m. ET he will address everyone on Instagram Live.
