Smoke em if ya got em - but only if you have a ride off campus. A new tobacco free policy will ban tobacco use on all 64 state university campuses by January 1, 2014. 468,000 students and 88,000 employees will no longer have the luxury of enjoying a smoke while on school grounds.

Buffalo, Cortland and Canton already enforce these policies. SUNY Albany doesn’t allow smoking within 10 feet of building entrances, 30 feet of ventilation intakes and in stairwells.

It should be interesting to see what students and faculty do to get around this. Many mall visitors have been smoking inside their cars since Crossgates banned smoking. If a smoker needs a cigg, they’ll find away to sneak a drag.
