Ruck passes in his sleep.

Sean Price, The Deception Don passed away at the extremely young age of 43 years old in his sleep on Saturday, August 8, 2015. The cause of his death were not immediately available.

Sean Price was introduced to the Hip Hop limelight in the mid 90s as 1/2 of the group Heltah Skeltah under one of my favorite rap labels of the 90s, Duck Down Records. The label bolstered a lineup of lyrical monsters and rappers who laid the blueprint for what is now considered "90s East Coast Gansta Rap". Artists such as Black Moon, Smif-N-Wessun, and the O.G.C.

Along with his partner, Rock, Heltah Skeltah went on to release 2 albums to little mainstream success. As a solo artist, Sean Price released 3 albums, 3 mixtapes and an album with the collective Random Axe, which includes underground rap mainstays Guilty Simpson & Black Milk.

This one truly hurts. Any time a member of the Hip Hop community dies, the loss is felt across the board. However, this one hurts because I've been a fan of his work since I was a young kid just learning what type of Hip Hop I liked. It turns out that my type of rap requires BARS, and the Bar-Barian had more than enough to spare.

Rest in peace, P.
