Rae Sremmurd has fired back at Hot 97s Ebro's claims that the duo don't write their own lyrics. Ebro made the claims after Complex listed Rae Sremmurd's SremmLife album the third best of 2015; and the longtime radio vet dismissed Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi entirely in his criticism of the listing and said they were just puppets for a superproducer.

"They didn't write that sh*t," he says, "Any of it. Maybe some of it. Mike WiLL Made-It — you know that his name is 'Mike WiLL-Made It?' He made that album. They're Kriss Kross. It was a fabricated thing that we all liked."

Mike WiLL and Ebro then went back and forth on Twitter about the claims.

"If Sremm didn't write they raps, who the f--- did?" tweeted Mike WiLL. Ebro responded with "Drummer's Ear & you...and them some. Stop it."

Ebro later dismissed Swae's co-writing credit on Beyonce's "Formation." “If you co-wrote.... Technically you ain’t write that s---. Just swag rappin in 2016 is zzzzzz.” he tweeted.

But now, the duo is speaking up for themselves.

"It’s such a false statement,” Swae Lee says in an interview with The FADER. “Where’d it come from? You pulled it out your ass. If you want to know who wrote my shit, go to my album credits."

"Mike WiLL would listen and wouldn’t say nothing,” added Jxmmi. “We would be like, ‘Damn, we gotta go harder.’ Then one day he was like, ‘I see the vision, I like it.’ Then he signed us.”

Ebro told the FADER: “I believe they generate a ton of ideas. But that stuff isn’t even writing, it’s just like mumbo jumbo, swag talk.”
