Should Black celebrities give their hard earned wealth to folks stuck in a rut?

Last night, a twitter user was going off about how the ghettos of America need to be revitalized.

Meanwhile Oprah’s #SuperSoulSunday thread full of inspirational quotes encouraged her other followers, the random male tweeter asked @Oprah When are you gonna give back to the ghettos in America?

Oprah tweeted back “When are u? I’ve put 500 African American men through college. And u sir?”

Ol boy tried to come back at Oprah, but she wasn’t having it and ignored the rest of his tweets. The rest of the Twitterverse surely let him have it though! LOL

Oprah is the poster-child for giving back! Aside from her charitable giving to Morehouse College, Oprah opened a school for girls in South Africa in 2007, and has donated millions of dollars to impoverished individuals around the world through her Angel Network. And don’t forget about the infamous “Oprah’s Favorite Things” episodes.

I feel like no matter how much she gives, some folks still won’t be satisfied! Do you think she was right for challenging the unsigned rapper on Twitter to lend a hand up rather than asking for a hand-out?

Why do we expect Black Celebs to give,give,give all the while we won’t help the old lady in our own community carry in the groceries! That’s the ish “I Don’t Like”!
