Funny men can rap too, apparently. It seemed like OB O'Brien was just Drake and OVO's mascot and comic relief because of his humorous appearances in Drake's 'Worst Behavior' and 'Started From The Bottom.' It turns out the bearded Canadian can rap pretty well too. Today he debuted his new song, titled 'Steve Nash.'

As those familiar with O'Brien's antics would expect, 'Steve Nash' works like a stoner song. Chef Byer handles the production supplying a track that combines the classic 'Synthetic Substitution' drum break with a mellow electric piano sample courtesy of The Incredible Bongo Band. O'Brien doesn't sound too far off from Drake vocally. He's just as nasal, but he doesn't have the same command over melody and cadence as his childhood friend.

As for the song title, O'Brien references passing the chronic (not basketballs) and his relationship to Drake's Kobe Bryant. "Papi's Kobe, OB hit me with the lead pass / Shout out to homie Steve Nash," Drake says as he ends the track.

Drake already had his time in 2013 with 'Nothing Was the Same's rollout. This year could be the year he pushes some of his OVO label signees to the forefront. He introduced PARTYNEXTDOOR and Majid Jordan (who assists with 'Hold On We're Going Home) last year, and they just may be pushed further this year.
