It’s only a matter of time before Jay-Z becomes President of the United States. I’m not kidding. Eventually he’s going to run out of things to do. He’s the head honcho of his own record label, has his own clothing line, is part owner of a professional sports franchise and was named executive producer of one of the most popular video games in the country. His latest venture is athlete management and his first client is one of the biggest names in baseball – Robinson Cano.

The New York Yankees second basemen joins Jay-Z, Rihanna, Timbaland and Santigold as a member of Jay’s Roc Nation imprint, which is expanding into sports representation.

Jigga replaces Cano’s longtime agent, Scott Boras. Boras has represented some of the biggest names in sports including Barry Bonds, Greg Maddux, Alex Rodriguez, Prince Fielder and Stephen Strasburg. This is the last season of Cano’s $57 million contract.

“At this point in my career, I’m ready to take a more active role in my endeavors on and off the field.” Can shot down anyone who questions the credibility of Roc Nation. “I am confident that the pairing of Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports will be essential in helping me accomplish my short and long term goals. I am making this important decision now so I can keep my focus on helping the Yankees succeed in 2013, while minimizing any distractions for me and my teammates.”
