Hip-hop will be representing at the Country Music Television (CMT) Awards. Rapper Nelly is scheduled to perform during the live show tonight. The St. Lunatic will join the country music duo Florida Georgia Line for the live rendition of 'Cruise.' He is featured on the song's remix.

Nelly is no stranger to country collaborations. Back in 2004, Tim McGraw joined him on his song 'Over and Over.' The rhymer's always had a love for the musical genre growing up in the Midwest. He told the Associated Press that he's happy to be part of bridging the gap between genres.

"Obviously our views today aren't the same as our grandparents', so when you look at the way the youth migrates and the way everything intertwines, the Internet has brought so many people together around the world in the same place at the same time," said Nelly.

He continued, "Music was only in line to be integrated like that. It's a beautiful thing because you want your kids to be multifaceted. You want your kids to experience a lot more than you did as a child," he said. "So I welcome it. My kids are Taylor Swift fans. They love Florida Georgia Line. But they also love Lil Wayne."

The CMT Awards air tonight at 8PM ET on CMT.
