One week before the Movement Festival was slated to kick off its string of Austrailasian shows in Auckland on April 24, Live Nation and Niche Productions decided to cancel the multi-city music event.

According to Billboard, the promoters encountered a number of issues while they were putting the finishing touches on the event. Angel Haze pulled out of the event due to scheduling conflicts while 2 Chainz was encountering visa problems because of a pending court case.

This led to venue changes in certain cities and negative feedback from many ticket holders, which resulted in today's announcement.

Ticket holders will be refunded in full.

Nas was originally slated to be the festival's headlining act and later also became part of the event's planning process.

The festival also enlisted the talents of Chiddy Bang, Joey Bada$$, Spit Syndicate and Thundamentals.

Nas and the event promoters were hoping that the festival, which was also supposed to hit Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, would promote the hip-hop scene in Australia.
