Meek Mill Tried to Convince Kanye West Not to Meet With President Trump
Meek Mill's push for criminal justice reform has been so real since his release from jail that he's tried his best to push any and everyone toward helping the movement. One of his steps apparently involved trying to talk Kanye West out of meeting with President Trump at the White House.
In a Vulture interview that dropped yesterday (Nov. 27), the "Oodles O' Noodles Babies" rapper opened up about his fight to change the way people are treated in the prison system, the hardships of working with the likes of President Donald Trump and his efforts to stop Kanye West from meeting with the president.
“I don’t think [Kanye] addressed anything that had to do with what was tough on justice reform," Meek said. "He wasn’t prepared for it, and he shouldn’t have done it. I had phone calls with Kanye for hours. He was trying to get me to go to things like that,” he says.
On the contrary, Meek's conversations with 'Ye's wife Kim Kardashian-West had more substance and were actually going well but in the end, the Championships rapper couldn't get through to them.
“She knew a lot more information than I thought she would know," Meek said about Kim. “I just couldn’t reason with them.”
“I already knew that he don’t give a fuck about me or my kind,” says Mill, who turned down an invitation to the White House to talk prison reform legislation. “It was too much of a game, and I wasn’t trying to be used like a pawn.”
Meek Mill's Championships album drops this Friday (Nov. 30).
