Marsha Ambrosius’ ‘Friends & Lovers’ Album Available for Streaming
We've been patiently waiting for Marsha Ambrosius to release her new 'Friends & Lovers' album and it's finally here. The collection, which is the sequel to her 2011 LP 'Late Nights & Early Mornings,' is an honest songbook centered on the intricacies of love and its aftereffects.
The 14-song project boasts guest appearances from Charlie Wilson and Dr. Dre, as well as production from Da Internz and the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.
On the album, Ambrosius paints various stories on love. On 'So Good,' the ex-Floetry songbird vividly details a passionate night of lovemaking. Ambrosius then kicks it up a notch on the lush '69,' in which she explicitly explains how she likes to be satisfied in the bedroom.
But Ambrosius also sings about post-coital euphorias on the yearning 'Shoes' and the reflective 'Night Time.'
While most of the songs on the set are deliciously sexual, the 36-year-old singer balances it out with what she's also known for -- her sumptuous love ballads. 'You and I,' 'Cupid,' and the Charlie Wilson-assisted 'Spend All My Time' are perfect tunes to play for those romantic nights with your boo.
Marsha Ambrosius' honesty on 'Friends & Lovers' is quite refreshing and inviting. The album is definitely required listening for the bedroom.
