Wednesday was a big day for Jay Z, as the veteran rapper was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, joining the likes of tons of major legends in music. While Hov's fans were celebrating his huge milestone, the rapper actually broke his Twitter silence to share his big win with the rest of hip-hop culture.

Mr. Carter tweeted, "By the way, this is a win for US. I remember when rap was said to be a fad. We are now alongside some of the greatest writers in history."

Tidal subscribers got a special treat following the ceremony, as Hov released a playlist to celebrate his big induction. The collective tracklist is called "Songwriting Hall of Fame," and features tons of throwback classics, including Eminem's "Lose Yourself," Grandmaster Flash's "The Message," Rakim and Eric B.'s "Paid In Full," and more.

This is a huge feat for hip hop culture, as Jay is the first artist of the genre to join the likes of many legends in the Hall of Fame. Hopefully this is a sign of more rap nominees to come for the organization. Listen to Jay Z's playlist below, and let us know your thoughts on his selections.
