Reports of Lil Wayne's near demise last week were greatly exaggerated no thanks to TMZ. Young Money president Mack Maine said Weezy wasn't too happy with the initial reporting of his hospitalization, which had him lying on his death bed.

"I was actually sitting right next to him, honestly, when it happened, and his mom was in the other room, and his face dropped," Maine told Sway Calloway on Wednesday's episode (March 20) of 'RapFix Live.' "I just saw it in his face, like, 'I can't believe that."

As we previously reported, Wayne was hospitalized for six days at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles after having multiple seizures. What followed was a kerfuffle of reports that the 'Love Me' rapper overdosed on codeine and was being prepared for his last rites.

This prompted Maine and Birdman to blast TMZ for their misreporting. "A lot of blogs and stuff put out some foolishness, but that wasn't true," said Maine. "He has four kids. Imagine his daughter hearing that somewhere in school or something like that, so he wasn't too happy about that."

In light of TMZ mishandling the story, Maine says that Wayne is in good health and getting some much-needed rest. "He's blessed, he's up, he's in good spirits, and we'd like to thank all the fans for the prayers. A lot of people reached out and showed love, but Wayne's at home, he's relaxing," he says. "He's actually been in good health for a minute. They just wanted to run a few tests on him, that's why they kept him longer than expected, but he's been good."

Wayne's next order of business is to get ready for the release of his new album, 'I Am Not a Human Being II,' which hits stores on Tuesday (March 25). The collection boasts collaborations with 2 Chainz, Gudda Gudda, Nicki Minaj, Juicy J and many others.
