You hear stories all the time about how many tracks artists mix down before selecting album cuts. I heard a rumor that Beyonce had over 300 songs recorded to choose from for her latest album, 4. I can’t help but wonder, where do half of these songs end up? Do The Beatles, Elvis and Michael Jackson still have HUNDREDS of songs that we haven’t heard, and probably never will? After MTV News’s interview with Lil Wayne, the idea doesn’t seem far-fetched.

Throughout his career, Wayne has collab’d with more people than any one person could remember. Shoot, dude’s career STARTED by collaborating with his fellow “Hot Boyz” along with the original face of Cash Money, Juvenile. But Weezy and Dre? The styles are so polar opposite. As I write the two names next to each other on paper, something just doesn’t look right. However, the two have teamed up more times than I ever expected.

Weezy told MTV News that he’s recorded around 90 songs with Dr. Dre.

“I’ve always worked with Dre. I’m not sure if you guys know how Dre works, Dre always sends you a song, so I done probably did like 90 songs for Dre. You just never know which one he gonna put out.”

The latest collaboration between Weezy and Dre? Wayne’s own line of Beats By Dre headphones.
