Pop star Ed Sheeran took the stage at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards to perform his megahit "Shape of You" and surprised the fans when brought out none other than Lil Uzi Vert and--Sheeran actually performed his take on the rapper's own hit.

Sheeran started up his own version of Vert's "XO Tour Llif3," and Vert took care of the verses--to top it off, they were backed by a full band.

The 2017 MTV Video Music Awards was filled with eye-popping performances. Things kicked off with a bang when Kendrick Lamar opened the show with a group of ninjas scaling a wall of fire behind him. After winning his first MTV Video Music Award Sunday night alongside Fifth Harmony at the 2017 MTV VMAs, Gucci Mane and the superstar pop group performed their hit "Down."

And Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry closed the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards with a bizarro performance of their hit single “Swish Swish.”

Lil Uzi Vert is having a big week, in addition to his VMAs appearance, he dropped his new project Luv Is Rage 2.
