Kendrick Lamar had the no. 1 album on the year end Top Billboard 200 Album Chart for 2017.

The charts are ranked by album sales as well as audio on-demand streaming activity and digital sales of tracks, according to Billboard. The year-end music recaps are based off of statistical chart performance between the dates of December 3rd, 2016 and November 25th, 2017. The Top Artists category "ranks the best- performing acts of the year based on activity on the Billboard 200 albums tally and the Billboard Hot 100 singles list, as well as streaming, social media and Billboard Boxscore data."

It's not surprising that Kendrick came in at no. 1. He's up for seven Grammy Awards this year, and landed on the top 10 list of 2017's biggest songs, according to BuzzAngle's Hitmakers list, He also picked up the Favorite Hip Hop Album Award at the American music Awards earlier this fall.

As for the rest o the albums on Billboard's year end chart, Kendrick is followed by Bruno Mars24K Magic at second, and The Weeknd's Starboy at third. Drake's More Life takes the fifth position on their charts with Post Malone's Stoneyand Migos Culture sitting at seventh and eighth place, respectively. J. Cole's 4 Your Eyez Only caps off the top 10 albums of the year.
