Kelela Covers Sade’s ‘Like a Tattoo’ on BBC Radio 1 [VIDEO]

Kelela is on her promotional grind in support of her latest album, Take Me Apart. Recently, the R&B singer appeared on BBC Radio 1’s program, Piano Sessions, and performed two songs.

For her first set, Kelela sang her favorite song from Sade’s 1992 album, Love Deluxe, “Like a Tattoo.” Over soft piano keys, Kelela delivers a tender rendition that almost rivals the original version.

For her second performance, Kelela performed “Waiting” from her Take Me Apart album. The Washington, D.C. native turned the club-driven track into a mellow tune with her silky voice sounding oh-so lovely over the upbeat piano groove.
