Kanye West is still being evaluated at Ronald Reagan UCLA Center in Los Angeles for paranoia and depression, but many are wondering what pushed the rapper-producer over the edge? According to TMZ, an insider close to the situation believes the ninth anniversary of his late mother death may have been the triggered that cause Yeezy to snap.

Dr. Donda West died on Nov. 7, 2007 following a botched plastic surgery procedure. Her funeral was Nov. 20, which is the same day he nixed his show at the Los Angeles Forum. On the following day, West canceled the remaining dates of the tour; hours later he suffered a nervous breakdown.

The source tells TMZ that West has been very emotional leading up to his recent hospitalization fueled by lack of sleep, constant touring and, of course, dealing with his wife, Kim Kardashian, getting tied up and robbed in Paris. All of this would make any person go into a state of panic.

Although he being watched by doctors at UCLA, West is still keeping himself busy. The G.O.O.D. Music leader is reportedly making beats while in his hospital bed.

“Kanye keeps wanting to work. At the hospital, he requested that recording equipment be brought to the hospital so he can record in his bed,” a source told Us Weekly. “And he has kept asking to see sketches of his fashion lines. He continues to want to work and Kim has to keep telling him to rest."

Well, at least West's creative spirit is still active. Hopefully, he will continue to rest and get better.
