Kanye West Kicks Off ‘Saint Pablo Tour’ With a Floating Stage
Kanye West kicked off his "Saint Pablo" tour last night (Aug. 25) at Indianapolis' Bankers Life Fieldhouse arena—and yes, he appeared on a floating stage, which levitated above the crowd.
His set list was wide and diverse, mimicking his extensive catalog of music, as he ran through songs from College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation, 808s & Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,Yeezus, his collab with Jay Z, Watch The Throne. Obviously, he performed songs from The Life of Pablo as well, including "30 Hours." In addition to his own music, he also offered the packed crowd a couple of features, including his collaboration with Drake, “Pop Style" and “THat Part" with ScHool Boy Q.
The start of his tour follows yesterday's news that he'll have free reign at the upcoming MTV VMA's this weekend—kinda. MTV has reportedly given him four minutes to "do whatever," which, if Kanye goes full Kanye, could be interesting to say the least. The other day he went on Twitter to vent his frustrations with the industry, calling corporate radio out for not playing diverse artists that fans are into, like the new Frank Ocean, so there's no telling if he'll get back on his soapbox at the VMAs.
Tomorrow, 'Ye will be in Buffalo, NY at First Niagara Center before heading to Toronto on Aug. 30. The tour wraps on Oct. 29 in Las Vegas. Check out some fan footage from the show last night below.
