Jay-Z’s NBA 2k13 Soundtrack

It was recently announced that Jay-Z will be getting Executive Producer cred for the upcoming video game, NBA 2k13. Now we have a better idea of exactly what Jay’s role will be.

Hova’s duties include assembling the soundtrack, working with developers on off-court aspects of the game, menus, intro/outro videos and more. Last year’s soundtrack featured artists like Bad Meets Evil and Kurtis Blow.

Jay will showcase himself by featuring a few of his songs on the soundtrack like Public Service Announcement (yes!!!!) and On To The Next One. The game’s soundtrack in the past has been predominantly hip hop, but Jay has different plans by including bands like U2, Daft Punk and Coldplay on this year’s game (scheduled to be released on October 2nd).
