Jay Electronica Claims He’s the ‘God of Hip-Hop,’ Throws Shots at Drake & J. Cole [VIDEO]

The summer of 2015 has been heating up with hip-hop beef and Jay Electronica is adding fuel to the proverbial fire with some stinging remarks he made during a show in London last week.

The New Orleans native calls home to overseas these days -- he resides in London with his girlfriend Kate Rothschild, the heiress to a world famous banking dynasty -- and showed up at the city's XOYO club recently. While gracing the stage, the "Exhibit C" rhymer apparently had a lot on his mind when it came to some of the MCs dominating hip-hop at the moment -- namely Drake and J. Cole.

First, he made a very arguable claim: "Jay Electronica is the God of hip-hop." Then he fired off at Drizzy. "You might be the 6 God, but I am the God,” he stated while the crowd roared in approval.

But the words that really got the crowd hyped up was the jab he took at the 2014 Forest Hills Drive creator. "I'm sorry, but J. Cole ain't got bars like this," the 38-year-old MC said. "I'm sorry, whoever your favorite rapper is, they all know that I'm the God."

The sounds of “Shiny Suit Theory" featuring Jay Z rang off in the club before he decided to do a cover of Skepta's hit "Shutdown," a fitting track for someone who just ignited a possible hip-hop beef of his own.

With Meek Mill and Drake's recent war of words still hanging in the air it's interesting to hear Jay Electronica go at the Toronto native and Cole for seemingly no reason. While the younger rhymers have consistently churned out new music, the world is still waiting on Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn).
