The past month and a half in America has been full of violence and tragedy. As a result, Ja Rule and Ashanti are changing the name of their upcoming tour out of respect for the victims' families, according to TMZ.

Ja and Ashanti are removing the "Killers" from the originally titled Natural Born Killers tour, leaving the name at simply Natural Born tour. Ja took to Instagram on Tuesday to post a promotional flyer with the word "Killers" removed.

Ja apparently stressed to TMZ that they have a creative and First Amendment right to call the tour whatever they please, but they decided to make the switch anyway.

The 12-city tour kicks off on Aug. 25 at New York City's Playstation Theater. Ja and Ashanti will then visit Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Atlanta, among other cities, before they wrap up on Sept. 10 at New Orlean's Joy Theater. The Natural Born tour was initially announced back in October 2015.

The "Put It on Me" rapper was in the news in May for a hilariously dumb tweet. Ja took to the popular social media platform to voice what he thought was a solid opinion about the Crying Jordan meme. He typed, "This is why I love America while we all laughing at the Jordan crying face he gets a 1$ every time it gets post. Jokes on us!!!" Uh, yeah, pretty sure that's not how it works, playa.

Keep it locked to XXL for more news from both Ja Rule and Ashanti.
