J. Cole will drop his sophomore platter 'Born Sinner' on June 25. The LP will serve as the follow up to his critically acclaimed debut, 'Cole World: The Sideline Story.'

The Miguel-assisted single 'Power Trip' is generating some heat due to the controversial video, which suggests that Cole murders the R&B singer.

In this studio clip, the rapper offers an intimate peek into the creative process behind the song and how he came up with the track's dominant and infectious beat.

The video is over eight minutes in length and is certainly of interest for rap fans who are curious about how things shake out in the studio and how someone like Cole crafts a beat.

The song is self-produced and here we see Cole explain to his boys how he manipulated and created the sound. He's parked in front of a MacBook Pro on the console, clearly feeling what he's doing.

You'll feel like you're a part of the crew or like a voyeur with a keyhole view, sitting in the studio with them while they adopt a celebratory attitude about what they know sounds good -- and it does.

You can tell by the look on Cole's face and the reaction he's getting that he's super proud of his work. Truth is, he should be.
