J. Cole Discusses Being Left Off MTV’s Hottest MC’s List

When it comes to MTV’s “Hottest MC’s in the Game” list, we’ve heard from most of the peanut gallery. Specifically, Kanye West and A$AP Rocky. Neither were satisfied by their position on the list, with Rocky saying he’d rather not be on the list at all if he isn’t number one. So what do people who didn’t even make the list think? When it comes to J. Cole, not much.

In an interview with Atlanta’s DJ Drama, Cole World used sarcasm as a weapon but seemed to shrug off the nod.

“Somebody’s gonna die. I don’t know, but I don’t really give a f---. It is what it is. Think about it, from what they say, it’s the past year. I’ve had a quiet year.”

He does have a point there. His debut album, “Cole World: The Sideline Story,” was released in 2011.

Maybe 2013 will be his year as he’s prepping for the release of his second studio album, “Born Sinner.” The first single off the project, “Power Trip”, featuring Grammy winner, Miguel, is currently in rotation.
