Iggy Azalea Claims She Suffered From a Psychotic Breakdown
"I had to have a psychotic breakdown last year," Azalea told Schon magazine, about the cancelled tour. "I felt tired and stressed out."
The "Fancy" rapper was scheduled to tour the United States and Canada beginning in April of last year. This was eventually pushed back to September before being cancelled altogether. Iggy previously admitted that she needed a break in an interview with Seventeen magazine.
"Mentally, to be honest with you, I just feel I deserve a break," she said. "I’ve been going non-stop for the past two years, nearly every single day. I’m not in a bad place. I think sometimes when you say you need a mental break, people are like, 'A mental break? Be sure you don’t have a breakdown because you’re sad.' No, not necessarily. It’s very emotionally draining to be on all the time and going all the time, planning all the time."
Later in her interview with Schon Magazine, Iggy Azalea explained how she was losing control of her life.
"Last year, I felt like I was definitely not in control of the media’s narrative of me," she explained. "It made me feel very out of control of my own life or my ability to have my own perception of who I was. You don’t want someone else writing your narrative and making you the villain. Then I just realized that, you know what, you can’t control it and I think I accepted that and moved on to living my life."
Hopefully Iggy Azalea has sought some help with addressing these issues and can get back to good place in her life.
