Aside from the occasional Coors Light commercial, we haven’t seen a whole lot of Ice Cube lately. Fans of the West Coast rapper will be happy to find out he’s set to star in an upcoming action comedy, rolling into theaters on January 17th, 2014.

The flick is slated to be titled “Ride Along”, also starring Kevin Hart (yess!!). The film is described as a “comedic Training Day.” The story revolves around a risk-averse second-grade teacher who plans on marrying the girl of his dreams. First, he must accompany his overprotective future brother-in-law, a tough cop, on a ride-along from hell.

I haven’t found which role Ice will be playing. Other stars include John Leguizamo, Tika Sumpter, Bryan Callen and Jay Pharoah. “Ride Along” will be directed by Tim Story. Cube has previously worked with Story on the film, Barbershop, while Kevin Hart was one of the stars of Tim’s “Think Like A Man.” Other directing credits for Tim include “Fantastic Four” and “Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer.”
