Wild weather is the talk of the town at the moment. Local news stations have been covering the impact of Hurricane Sandy as it moves toward the lower east coast.

The National Hurricane center is projecting the storm to hit the mid/upper Atlantic coast on early Tuesday morning. Local meteorologists aren’t sure of the impact the storm will have on the Capital Region. Those directly affected by Sandy should expect gale force winds and long, intense sessions of rain.

The storm has already torn through Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba. The infamous “Perfect Storm”, documented in the novel and film starring George Clooney, caused $200 million in damages in 1991. A meteorologist told the Associated Press on Wednesday that this storm could cause upwards of one BILLION dollars worth of damage.

We’ll keep you posted as more information related to the storm is released.
