The State of  Louisiana has been declared by President Obama as a disaster area with historic flooding on top of the record floods the state suffered earlier this year.

There's many ways that you can help. I've listed a few organizations below that are in the treaches as we speak.
The Salvation Army, which is dealing with flooding at its Baton Rouge facility, is helping thousands of residents who were forced to evacuate their homes.
The organization is assisting with disaster relief resources such as  mobile feeding units, clean up and hygiene kits and sending support personnel to the affected areas.
Red Cross: If you want to volunteer, call the Red Cross at 855-489-2528 or sign up at
The United Way needs you to help flood relief efforts by volunteering or making a donation through the United Way of Southeast Louisiana. Citizens in need of services should dial 211, which is a hotline operating 24/7.

Zeta Phi Beta: The Rho Epsilon chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has  a GoFundMe account to raise money for families and students in the Baton Rouge area who have been affected by flooding. The sorority hopes to raise $10,000 and donate $500 to each family or student.

We are a nation that stands together and during times of natural disasters is when we should be able to count on one another in all ways possible. If you feel moved or inspired to help PLEASE don't hesitate!
