Hot 97 Summer Jam 2013: Nicki Minaj + Mariah Carey Make Surprise Cameos + More

If you're a hip-hop fan and weren't at Hot 97's Summer Jam 2013, then you are probably kicking yourself right now. This year marked the annual event's 20th anniversary and the New York-based radio station pulled out all the stops.

A huge cameo came in the form of Nicki Minaj who performed 'I Love Dem Strippers' and 'Beez in the Trap,' with 2 Chainz. If you all recall, Nicki was supposed to perform at last year's Summer Jam, but pulled out when Peter Rosenberg, one of the station's DJs, said that her track 'Starships,' wasn't hip-hop. All that mess is water under the bridge now, with Nicki and her Young Money counterpart Lil Wayne both making appearances at the concert.

Weezy took the stage during French Montana's set to perform 'Pop That' along with Rick Ross -- yet another special guest at the concert. For a guy who's had quite the health scares of late, Lil Wayne looked spry and energetic spitting his verse on Montana's track.

But the surprise cameos didn't stop at Ms. Minaj and Weezy, Miguel brought out Mariah Carey during his set to perform their new track, '#Beautiful,' which would drive any fan of music, hip-hop or otherwise, absolutely insane. That girl can sang.

In addition to these special guests, the regular line-up including hip-hop and R&B heavyhitters like Kendrick Lamar, ASAP Rocky, Chris Brown, Wale, Meek Mill and more. Like we said, are you kicking yourself that you weren't there yet?
