Giving Tuesday: What Are Some Of Your Favorite Capital Region Charities?

After 'Black Friday,' 'Small Business Saturday,' and 'Cyber Monday'... here we are at 'Giving Tuesday'.

I am curious what are some Albany-based or nearby charities that you all support, or maybe some small ones that just need more awareness (or even inspire some volunteers).

So, what are some of your favorite local non-profits? Here are a couple lets add more to the list.

The Oley Foundation Inc

Mission: to enrich the lives of those requiring home intravenous and tube feeding through education, outreach and networking.

United Way of the Greater Capital Region

Mission: United Way improves lives and advances the common good in the Capital Region by mobilizing the caring power of donors, volunteers and community partners to give, volunteer and advocate for people in need within our region.

HELPING HONDURAS KIDS

Mission: To improve the level of dignity, education, opportunity and health for orphaned, abandoned, abused, and/or neglected and special needs children, single mothers and families on the north coast of Honduras. We also strive to share the love of Jesus Christ everywhere we go through acts of kindness and love.

Pride Center Of The Capital Region

Mission: To develop, support, and preserve the well being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community.

The Damien Center
Mission: Founded in 1990, the Damien Center is a resource center designed to improve health, reduce stress and increase the quality of life in a supportive atmosphere for individuals and families living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
