Game Says ‘All Eyez On Me’ Will ‘Make That Biggie Movie Look Like a Cartoon’

Fans were buzzing after the release of the first trailer for All Eyez On Me, the Tupac Shakur biopic that's slated to arrive in theaters this November. The trailer debuted online on what would have been the late rapper's 45th birthday (June 16), and immediately sparked conversation and ramped up anticipation for the flick.

Game attended a private screening for an early cut of the film with director Benny Boom, star Demetrius Shipp, Jr. and producer L.T. Hutton, and the Compton-born rapper had nothing but high praise for All Eyez...; while making it clear that he was no fan of 2009s Notorious, a biopic about 2Pac's most famous rival, the Notorious B.I.G.

“I’m proud of the homie Benny Boom and L.T. Hutton; I'm proud for Pac, I'm proud for Afeni [Shakur], I'm proud for the entire West Coast,” an obviously-enthused Game said on Hutton's Instagram after the screening. “I'm proud for Demetrius Shipp; played Tupac. The Tupac movie is the real deal, s--- make that Biggie movie look like a cartoon...I don't mean no...ay...that's what it is, homie."

Notorious received mixed-to-negative reviews upon release, but that film's star, Jamal Woolard was praised for his portrayal of the late hip-hop star. Woolard will again play Biggie in All Eyez On Me.

Incidentally, Biggie's now-teenaged son, C.J. Wallace, appeared in Notorious as the childhood version of his famous dad; and C.J. recently shared his thoughts on both the upcoming All Eyez On Me and on 2Pac's portrayal in Notorious.

“Of course, they’re going to do just like Notorious; they have the light where they showed Pac at his anger stage,” Wallace said during a red carpet interview. “I really feel like they showed a bad light of Pac [inNotorious], in that regard. I feel like they could have showed a different, deeper side of Pac. And that’s what they [are] really going to do in All Eyez on Me and I can’t wait to see that side. Aside from [that]–my dad’s role in the film, I hope that they show the deeper role of my dad. Hope they don’t go too much on the bad side of things.”
