Fetty Wap Settles “Trap Queen” Lawsuit Privately
According to the site, the court was given documents indicating that parties representing Fetty and Lazar Lakic—the Danish singer who originally sued him—had settled their lawsuit on June 26. Their confidential agreement stipulated that the case would be closed in 30 days once both parties had fulfilled their agreed upon obligations.
This saga began back in September 2016 when Lakic sued Fetty and producer Tony Fadd after claiming he’d copped an instrumental titled “Hello” before Fadd sampled it for “Trap Queen,” a track that ultimately went platinum multiple times. At the time, Fetty’s lawyer claimed Fetty had bought the instrumental fair and square, and that if Lakic won the case, the New Jersey rapper was going to ask Fadd to cover the damages.
We don’t have any details about the terms of Fetty’s settlement, but it appears things have pretty much worked out in his favor. Now he can focus on dropping his newest album, titled King Zoo, later this year. While we wait for that, though, you can check out his latest project, Lucky No. 7.
